INFO FOR SKI INSTRUCTORS
SkiRing is a tool with infinite applications that you can tailor to fit your own unique teaching process.
As ski instructors we are teachers of an incredible sport, and just as there is no one way to learn there are infinite ways to teach. Our goal is not to tell you how to teach. You already know how to do that. Your gifts and passion are what led you to instruct and should be what shines when you teach your students. SkiRing is merely a tool to help you along the way.
SkiRing: a tool with infinite applications.
SkiRing can help your students put your already sound instruction into practice as well as it can inspire imaginative play. As new learners shake off those first-time jitterbugs, SkiRing helps make the learning process fun, safe, and engaging. Maintain a PSIA teaching progression for beginner skiers, simply ADD SkiRing™ to your already awesome lesson plan.
As a tool, SkiRing can help new learners better grasp the fundamentals like helping them keep their hands out front and practice proper ski stance, but it can also give them a sense of security and confidence as they advance to the next level. It can be scary or worrisome skiing in new snow conditions or terrains, and repeating learned skills using SkiRing will support the skier’s emotional well-being and set them up for a successful transition to the next slope.
Make SkiRing your own!
We encourage you to make SkiRing your own. Each student has their own way of learning and SkiRing can be utilized however you feel is best. SkiRing was designed to help you enhance your training program or process, helping you to shine as an instructor and your students to feel more confident, capable, and in control as they learn to ski.
Drop it as a safe target for them to ski to as motivation to learn to stop or to ski around, or create your own games and activities! Consider making SkiRing a part of your learn to ski packages or rental program to provide potential skiers with an attractive deal to help them get started. Should you choose to include a SkiRing for them to use, keep, or eventually “trade back” for a patch, they will have the ability to continue to practice outside of class.
Utilizing SkiRing can encourage students to spend more time practicing as well as get the most out of each lesson. These positive experiences can make each session that much more effective and fruitful for both the new skier and yourself.
Ultimately, our goal is to help you enhance your already sound instruction by helping your students get the most out of each session. In turn, we suspect you will have more meaningful teaching moments as you have a hand in creating more lifetime skiers and ski families!
