Success Stories

Basically, this is my 3rd year teaching Tommy, I could not get him to turn - for anything. And I tried EVERYTHING. I saw your product on the PSIA website, and thought I'd give it a go. By the end of our first 2-hour private of the season, Tommy was turning, controlling his speed and having a ball. He was the policeman I was the bad guy. I was doing garlands (he thought it was keep away) and he followed me, I completed the turn (running a red light), so did he… and so on. I reminded him "two hands on the wheel at all times, Officer!"

He was balanced, looking forward and completely finishing his turns. On the occasion he got away, he handed me the ring and I was able to slow him down and direct him into his next turn.

“I teach skiing for breakthroughs like this, and seeing the unmitigated joy on his face”

I teach skiing for breakthroughs like this, and seeing the unmitigated joy on his face - and the pride he had when he saw Mom and Dad.  I sent my ring home with him as a reward, he promised to bring it back for MLK weekend.

So, not only did it work for him, but gained attention from other parents watching us. I swear no less than a dozen people asked where I got it. Several said, "I want you to teach my kids". I ended up giving my business card to 3 guests , resulting in 3 private requests.

I've been teaching for 20 years - this is the best tool I've ever used hands down.

Congratulations! You were a part in making a "skiing family"

“Offers a connection to the instructor that does not involve actually holding the student, giving students a sense of security”

Quite simply, SkiRing serves multiple benefits in that it gets the hands moving into the future, i.e. toward directional travel.  It provides security in the minds of the student. It provides a training partnership. It improves stance in height, rotational alignment, tilt (sideways), balance, visual cues, etc. Can be used as a steering wheel too (i.e., like a bus/truck), flat/parallel to the ground and rotating the same as the feet/legs should be.

As to where the hula hoop around the body with the instructor behind DOES NOT work in my book, it only controls speed, yet moves them into a poor position, back & uphill.

“SkiRing is a user-friendly tool that works for all levels of snow sports, allowing creativity for teachers and students alike.”

As a member of the PSIA-C Nordic Ed staff and Children's Specialist staff I've used many props; tennis balls, pipe insulation, etc. SkiRing has provided my students and event participants with a do-all tool. I love to challenge Children's Specialist participants' creativity with SkiRing (it's much more than a steering wheel).

I also use SkiRing for Telemark workshops and exam purposes. As a club race coach and High School coach, I have used the ring in several tasks with very good results. SkiRing is a user-friendly tool that works for all levels of snow sports, allowing creativity for teachers and students alike.
